Years 1 and 2 Drum workshop

Years 1 and 2 enjoyed a fantastic drum workshop with Cathy Murray from Soundstorm and special guest Cheikh Diop and his amazing drums! Cheikh complimented the children on their listening skills and ability to recreate the rhythm and tone of the different drum calls that he created. Here are some pictures of Years 1 and 2 enjoying their fantastic session.

‘Reading is Fun’ – Sponsored read 2021

A huge thank you and well done to all of the children that took part in our ‘Reading is Fun’ sponsored reading Challenge recently.  All of the children that took part were awarded with a special certificate to celebrate their achievement.  We are thrilled and very grateful to have raised £1,552.94 in sponsorship money which will be spent on new reading books for every year group in the school.  This amount is even larger than we raised last year and we can’t thank you enough for all of your support.  A book token was awarded to the child in each year group that raised the most sponsorship money.

Wear Yellow for Forest Home Hospice – 21st June 2019

21st June saw us all wearing yellow for Forest Holme and bringing in a donation towards this local charity that is a centre of excellence in the care of people with life limiting illness.  All the children decorated a sunflower petal for our Forest Holme display board, their words and drawings remind us to think of others everyday.

We raised a fantastic £332.18 for Forest Holme Hospice! Thank you everyone for your generosity.

Congratulations Mrs Jordan-Gill (Busy Bee’s wonderful teacher) on completing the London Marathon on Sunday 28th April 2019 in a fantastic time of 5 hours and 23 minutes!!
