‘Friendship Week’ – 16th – 20th November 2020

As a school we will have a dedicated Friendship Week from the 16th to the 20th November that tackles issues surrounding bullying  and coincides with ‘Anti-Bullying Week’ around the country.  The focus for this year is – ‘Being United Against Bullying’.

We will begin the week with Odd Socks Day on Monday 16th, children are invited to come into school in their school uniform and wear a pair of crazy, colourful, odd socks.  We will celebrate being unique and accepting everyone as an individual.  Please send in a small donation to help us raise money for the Anti-Bullying Alliance charity.  Please see details of Odd Socks Day and the Anti-Bullying Alliance below.

Throughout the rest of the week children will focus on PSHE learning through our JIGSAW topic ‘Celebrating Difference’

Thank you

Friendship Week Tuesday 12th November to Friday 15th November

This year we kick started our Friendship week by asking children to come to school in odd socks.  It was an opportunity for children to express themselves celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique!

We talked about how every individual is unique, with similarities and differences.  To explore this the children were all given a sticker with a different object on it.  At playtime and lunchtime the children were encouraged to find other children with the same picture and initiate a conversation, making new friends.

On Friday 15th November we rounded off Friendship week by meeting as a whole school and sharing gifts of friendship bracelets and medals and meeting new friends.
